Material selection guide for electric heating products
How fleece, flannel, sherpa, non-woven layers, and backing materials change comfort, durability, and perceived value.
Textile choice is one of the fastest ways to change how a heating product feels in the hand and performs in the market. Soft fleece can feel approachable and lightweight, while sherpa-style fabrics create a warmer, more premium perception for winter retail.
Material decisions should be made together with heating element layout and washing requirements. A thicker surface may feel more comfortable but can slow perceived warmth-up time. A lighter surface may heat quickly but need more careful finishing to feel durable.
For private-label programs, request material swatches early and compare them under the same controller setting. This makes the trade-offs between comfort, price, packaging volume, and thermal feel much easier to judge.
